I recently stumbled across a website called kinefind.com which appears to help users locate marijuana dealers in their local area. I first thought it was some kind of joke site because I really could not believe what I was seeing. I looked around the site and sure enough, it seemed legit. An interface for searching is provided and results are returned if anyone in that area has registered as a “sponsor”. From what I can tell a “sponsor” is someone who has registered in an area as a person who either sells marijuana themselves or can get marijuana for others (middle man).
The information returned about a sponsor in a search result is very anonymous in nature. An alias or username, a sponsor rating, distance from the user in miles and a contact link. The contact link takes the user to a web form where they can fill out their contact info and submit a request so the sponsor’s email is never disclosed, further adding to the anonymity of the sponsors. It appears that the sponsor rating is like most other rating systems, where users can rate the sponsor so future users can guage the effectiveness of that sponsor. In a similar fashion, there is a feature to “flag a user’ which looks to be a way for sponsors to warn other sponsors about suspicious users.
Being somewhat of a marijuana connoisseur myself, I was excited about the prospects this site holds. many times I have been new to a city and not known the locals or the scene and had to go without. I do have to admit that I was reluctant to register as a sponsor seeing how it would be fairly simple for an officer of the law to pose as a user looking to score and bust you when you try to hook them up. I hope others are not as paranoid as I am because I for one am in favor of such a site and I say damn the man! Maybe one day I will grow a pair and decide to sponsor my area.
In the end, the website claims to not support the illegal selling of drugs and that they are simply a social site that brings people together who share in the same love of the herb. I say good looking out kinefind and keep fighting the good fight!

I am sure emergency rooms comes in very handy for those that need it and I am also sure that a lot of lives are saved by emergency room staff every day. What I am also sure of is you will be violated and utterly raped by any visit to any emergency room so you had better make sure you are in the midst of a real emergency. Damn blood sucking hospitals taking advantage of people who are in need is really a travesty. First you have a co-pay that is going to be about 4 times what a regular medical visit co-pay would be. A few weeks after your visit to the ER you will get a bill from the hospital wanting even more money and just when you think it is all over and paid for, you get a bill from the damn doctor wanting his share. What kind of shit is that?
This past Thanksgiving holiday I came down with something flu like and developed a pretty bad sore through because of it. Of course it got it’s worst during the four day holiday when no doctor’s offices were open so one night around 2:00AM, I had to go to the emergency room just so I could get some damn anti-biotic. I first get there and get signed in and finally seen and the first thing they wanted from me was $50.00 cash for my co-pay. They wouldn’t even look at me until I forked over the cash. My co-pay is regularly $15.00 so naturally a $50.00 co-pay was a bit of a surprise. I handed over the money and continued on with my self induced ass raping. Next I sat around for about forty five minutes before a nurse (male nurse even, lol, go Gaylord Focker) came in and saw me. I explained what I needed and he decided he wanted to swab me for strep throat. I agreed and so they did and it came back negative, great, can I have my damn anti-biotic yet?

Hello, my name is (fill in the blank) and I am an addict.
The consumption of fast food has become an epidemic in our society and I am not above the rest of the playing field when it comes to scratching my fast food itch. As a matter of fact, I am probably well behind the curve as far as averages go. On average, I eat fast food probably five or more times a week (lunches and dinners). It sucks because I actually hate fast food but I love it at the same time. This is why I consider it an addiction because according to Webster’s dictionary, one definition of addiction is:
“persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful”
Yes, I am well aware of the health risks involved in maintaining such a diet, but I do it anyway. Why? I actually do like the taste of some of the places out there for one. I am not the best of cooks (read can’t cook at all) so to be able to purchase some decent tasting food that I enjoy is a huge bonus compared to my other option, eating something I cook. I guess one could ask why I don’t just pick a good restaurant to eat at so I could choose something healthier. Simple, fast food is much cheaper than any restaurant and there is no tip involved. Another very real reason in my situation is the availability of the fast food. My wife and I both work full time jobs and we have 2 children so our days are pretty much packed with a constant schedule which keeps our life pace at a grueling speed. Fast food fits into this equation nicely.

I was on digg.com today and came across a link to an article on cnn.com that was truly heartbreaking. I won’t go into detail about the incident or the article because you can go there and read about it yourself, but suffice to say, it was about five adults and a twelve year old child torturing a disabled pregnant woman to death. This awakened my ongoing hatred of our justice system here in America, not because these individuals were let off or even tried yet, but because it was allowed to transpire at all.
I could not help but think that if our dumb ass justice system did not waste it’s damn time with worthless shit like marijuana smokers, pirated music/movies or steroid usage in Major League Baseball, that this poor woman may still be alive and her one year old son would still have a mother. It seems that most, if not all, Mayors, Governors, Police departments and even the FBI are more interested in the appearance of fighting crime as appose to actually fighting crime. This whole thing makes me sick. These things that committed this murder and torture and overall degradation of a human being should be subjected to the exact same treatment until they die as well.
I have got to say I feel it is about time we bring back the eye for an eye justice system. All five of these people (if not the twelve year old child as well) should be starved, beaten with baseball bats, stripped naked, doused with scalding liquid, shot with BB guns, burned with a glue gun and forced to run around outside naked along with any other thing they did to this poor woman up until the point they all die from the treatment. Wait, maybe a public execution would be a better idea. Nothing like seeing dead bodies swinging in the wind to convince you to actually be a decent human being instead of a murderous animal. I have no problem whatsoever killing someone in self defense or in battle, but the the hell did this poor woman do to any of these animals?

Now really I have no problem with actual credit reports, but credit recording or the use of that credit record against it’s owner has gotten to be down right criminal. I am not sure where at along the way in my life I authorized complete strangers to tally personal information about me and then sell it to other complete strangers for a profit, but it must have happen based on the simple fact that I have a credit record like most adult’s in our society. I say I must have signed something or agreed to it somewhere unknowingly because it would seem downright wrong for this to transpire without one’s permission.
I guess that first time I got a product that required a monthly payment or borrowed that first bit of money, I unknowingly gave my permissions for this atrocity to begin. I completely understand that some sort of track record has to be established to inform lenders of the level of risk involved when dealing with any particular individual, but why am I not allowed to see this personal information that has been tallied on my without having to pay for it? Of course you can now get one free credit report a year, but this credit report conveniently leaves out the most important part, the credit score! This all important score is the data that all lenders and creditors use to decide whether to do business with you at all and what kind of deal you will get if they decide to do business with you. The only time the actual information in a credit report is even looked at is when you (or possibly someone else) is trying to figure out why the credit score is so bad. Why is it that the lower your score is, the higher your interest becomes? Don’t you think that giving someone, who is already struggling, a much higher interest rate would make it even more difficult for them to clean up their credit by making timely payments? Our society is suffering big time right now because of fraudulent business practices such as this relating to the housing market.
Credit reporting has become the favorite tool of the unscrupulous these days to extort money out of individuals who, most of the time, does not owe the money or are not aware of the charge. If you try to challenge an incorrect billing these days you are instantly greeted with some jackass on the other end of the phone who wants to make it clear that they will report your non payment to the credit agencies so your financial life can take a hit for the next five to seven years all because of some stupid $60.00 charge to the phone company that you feel you do not owe. These kind of Gestapo tactics have got to be stopped.

This seems rather appropriate to discuss at this point in time because I can not seem to escape it. It is all over the TV, radio, internet, newspapers, etc. Let me start by saying that I am not talking in favor of, or against, any particular candidate or party. In general I will be bashing the entire process for it’s time consuming wastefulness and relatively damaging impact on our society. I am a very patriotic American and do feel that democracy, in general, is usually better than any other choice of obtrusive government. I think it is a great honor and privilege to be able to have our individual voices heard and to have a say so in whom the leader of our great country will be. The question here is of course, do we as citizens actually elect the President?
During the formation of our government, it was decided that the average citizen was just too damn stupid (read ignorant) to be responsible for electing the leader of the free world. Based on this revelation, an institution called the United States Electoral College was put in place. Essentially this group of 538 ‘representatives’ meet every 4 years to officially elect the President of the United States. Now each representative is suppose to cast their vote in a manner that reflects the overall majority of their district/constituent base. Theoretically, this should be a very effective way of electing the President; that is of course if you trust your representative to vote the way he or she should based on the majority vote of their constituents. Now in most of the elections throughout our history, the popular vote has matched the Electoral College vote. Three times it has not.
• 1824 - Adams vs Jackson
• 1876 - Hayes vs Tilden
• 1888 - Harrison vs Cleveland
In these elections, the candidate who won the popular vote (the citizen vote) did not win the Electoral College vote (the representative vote) and therefore was not elected President. Are these three isolated events enough to cast aside the entire process? Of course not, but it does show three times in history where the citizen’s voices were ignored. I believe that this style of leader electing is dated and does not really apply any longer. The average intelligence level of all citizens is staggeringly higher today than it was over two hundred years ago.

Yeah I know this is probably a touchy topic, especially for my first blog post, but it bubbled up to the top of my list while setting up this blog software. I chose to go with WordPress open source blog software for numerous reasons (none of which I will go into because that is not the point of this article) and this software happens to be developed in php and thus the reason why loathing php is on the fore-front of my mind. I will not be touching on the many many technical deficiencies of php, but rather my own take on a recent run-in and ongoing feelings of the language as a whole.
I am well aware that there are plenty of wonderful things about the language’s capabilities seeing how I have developed in it for quite a few years now. My beef is not so much with the performance or functionality but more with the very apparent sloppiness/ugliness of the language. Perl has gotten a bad rap for years due to it’s loose style enforcement and difficult readability, yet php stays pretty unscathed in this arena and I am not sure why.
The main thing that annoys me about php is the mixing of functional server side code and html content. Every language that has the capability of being used as a cgi server app has developed specific templating to avoid this very debacle. Just looking at what is really just an html page that has embedded php in it makes my eyes cringe (and sometimes bleed). I don’t care if apache has a built in php interpreter that makes running php cgi apps much quicker than most it’s competitors, having to develop in it gives me a headache. Besides, any well written perl or python or even ruby under the right circumstances (mod_perl, RoR, etc) will give you comparable performance and does not make me want to pull out my hair (if I had any).
