I recently stumbled across a website called kinefind.com which appears to help users locate marijuana dealers in their local area.  I first thought it was some kind of joke site because I really could not believe what I was seeing.  I looked around the site and sure enough, it seemed legit.  An interface for searching is provided and results are returned if anyone in that area has registered as a “sponsor”.  From what I can tell a “sponsor” is someone who has registered in an area as a person who either sells marijuana themselves or can get marijuana for others (middle man).

The information returned about a sponsor in a search result is very anonymous in nature.  An alias or username,   a sponsor rating,  distance from the user in miles and a contact link.  The contact link takes the user to a web form where they can fill out their contact info and submit a request so the sponsor’s email is never disclosed, further adding to the anonymity of the sponsors.  It appears that the sponsor rating is like most other rating systems, where users can rate the sponsor so future users can guage the effectiveness of that sponsor.  In a similar fashion, there is a feature to “flag a user’ which looks to be a way for sponsors to warn other sponsors about suspicious users.

Being somewhat of a marijuana connoisseur myself, I was excited about the prospects this site holds.  many times I have been new to a city and not known the locals or the scene and had to go without.  I do have to admit that I was reluctant to register as a sponsor seeing how it would be fairly simple for an officer of the law to pose as a user looking to score and bust you when you try to hook them up.  I hope others are not as paranoid as I am because I for one am in favor of such a site and I say damn the man!  Maybe one day I will grow a pair and decide to sponsor my area.

In the end, the website claims to not support the illegal selling of drugs and that they are simply a social site that brings people together who share in the same love of the herb.  I say good looking out kinefind and keep fighting the good fight!
