I am sure emergency rooms comes in very handy for those that need it and I am also sure that a lot of lives are saved by emergency room staff every day. What I am also sure of is you will be violated and utterly raped by any visit to any emergency room so you had better make sure you are in the midst of a real emergency. Damn blood sucking hospitals taking advantage of people who are in need is really a travesty. First you have a co-pay that is going to be about 4 times what a regular medical visit co-pay would be. A few weeks after your visit to the ER you will get a bill from the hospital wanting even more money and just when you think it is all over and paid for, you get a bill from the damn doctor wanting his share. What kind of shit is that?

This past Thanksgiving holiday I came down with something flu like and developed a pretty bad sore through because of it. Of course it got it’s worst during the four day holiday when no doctor’s offices were open so one night around 2:00AM, I had to go to the emergency room just so I could get some damn anti-biotic. I first get there and get signed in and finally seen and the first thing they wanted from me was $50.00 cash for my co-pay. They wouldn’t even look at me until I forked over the cash. My co-pay is regularly $15.00 so naturally a $50.00 co-pay was a bit of a surprise. I handed over the money and continued on with my self induced ass raping. Next I sat around for about forty five minutes before a nurse (male nurse even, lol, go Gaylord Focker) came in and saw me. I explained what I needed and he decided he wanted to swab me for strep throat. I agreed and so they did and it came back negative, great, can I have my damn anti-biotic yet?

So now, I sit around for another thirty minutes or so before the doctor finally comes in, tells me my strep throut test came back negative and wrote me a prescription for some anti-biotic. Almost 3 hours after I arrived, I can finally leave and get some anti-biotic. The visit sucked, was long, but at least it was over right, hell no. A few weeks later, I get a bill from the hopsital wanting like $130.00 for use of their facility. I thought this to be a bit excessive but said screw it and I paid the money. Another week or so later I got a bill from the doctor wanting another $180.00. For what? The fucking guy was in the room for like 10 seconds and I don’t think he even looked me in the face. So what choice did I have, I paid that shit too. To top it all off, a couple of days after this I received a bill from the lab who did my test for strep throat and they wanted like $60.00 for their minuscule little work they had to do. What the hell is going on? I didn’t think the damn bills were ever going to stop.

How is this shit allowed to transpire? All I wanted was some bullshit anti-biotic for a soar throat. So in the end I paid a $50.00 co-pay, $130.00 hospital bill, $180.00 doctor bill and a $60.00 lab bill for a grand total of $320.00 (if my math is right) for a prescription for an anti-biotic. This, of course, did not even include the inflated cost of the anti-biotic and pain medication itself. I think I got out of the entire deal for a grand, horse shit total, of $350.00. So I say, eat shit you stupid ass emergency room. Next time I see you I will have a screw driver in my neck and some fish hooks in my face and maybe some uncontrollable bodily fluids making a mass exodus out of my body. Even then I will not agree to be swabbed for strep throat again you bastards.
